Mysterious Hedge Reduction

Something has been nibbling or somebody has been trimming the infamous Moorehouse hedgerow at Park & Seventh! One section is now neatly aligned with the edge of the lot.

But on the outside, the shrubs are still scraggly and unkempt. A reader once promised to do a little guerilla clipping, so maybe that was the start of the cleanup. Moorehouse of Somerville promised to trim the hedges at the end the growing season last fall, but that never happened. So go for it, midnight neatniks!

Kudos To Moorehouse

After some time of neglect, the owners of the shopping plaza at Park & Seventh have shown an increasing degree of corporate responsibility.

Today this writer noticed that not only all were hedges clipped, but a formerly bare space on Park Avenue had been planted and mulched.

If the owner is still Moorehouse from Somerville, big ups to you.

Plaza Clean-up Promised

Over the weekend, someone remarked on the unsightly, overgrown shrubbery at the Twin City plaza. On Wednesday, I called the office of Moorehouse Seventh Corporation and was told, “It’s on our list.”

The shrubbery will be trimmed in the fall, after the growing season is over, according to the person who answered the phone.

If you are among those who are affronted by the lack of landscaping maintenance at this plaza, you can call Moorehouse Seventh Corporation at (908) 704-8989 or write to them at 33 Division Street, Somerville, NJ 08876.

The plaza at Park and Seventh is highly visible to hundreds of drivers and pedestrians who pass by daily. It is at the crossroads of the city’s main north-south and east-west routes through Union County. Once the shrubs are trimmed, maybe they can be kept neater-looking with maintenance through the spring and summer.

Tidiness at Park & Seventh

Whoopee! At last this corner looks neat!

Thanks to all who called Moorehouse and took other action to get this parking lot at the city's crossroads cleaned up. It only took a year or so!

Spring Clean-up

The daffodils are from our yard, but the sentiment is from our "hood."

Thanks to Moorehouse Properties for having the shrubs at the Twin City plaza trimmed and mulched for Spring!

It looks good and we appreciate it!

Trash Piles Up at Plaza

The plaza at Park & Seventh, owned by Moorehouse Seventh Corporation of Somerville, still has trash problems. Get a little closer to this shrubbery at the corner and here is what you will see.
Here's another view.

And another. The trash includes bottles, food wrappers and scraps, plastic bags, cast-off items including a suitcase and other odds and ends.
The company was supposed to trim back the shrubbery at the end of the growing season. The overgrown bushes invite littering and dumping. It is unfair to the store and to the neighborhood to have these trash piles in plain view.
