City Web Site Overhauled
Holy cow! By the time I started listening to On the Media with Media Player and the end of the show just now, the city's web site was completely transformed. I can click back to the old one on one browser or look at the new one on another.
Here's the new one.
Good work, Chris Payne!

If we have to hire an outside consultant to do the work then why do we need to pay a salary to a city Technology department
About time they got off their butts and did something though. But at what cost? Does anybody know who the Consultant was or was it done by someone from the School System? One would belive this would something the City's Public Information Officer would be assigned to do. I mean, how hard could it be when kids can build nice websites nowadays.
Maybe because the consultant IS the director of technology ever hear of double dipping.
Is it true that the Board of Education has a full time web developer on staff that built this website (look at the similarities between the city website and the school district website)?
Was this website built on the school districts dime?
Did it actually cost $100k? Who was this money paid to?
Is there some double dipping going on here?
All I can say is that whoever did the work did a nice job, but this is not a $100k website.
they still have Dave Marshall as Tax Collector.
It's not hard at all. You just need the smarts to hire people with the right skill set.
Therein lies the rub.
