City Inspector or Construction Official?

It may well be, as evidenced by his latest blog post, that despite being chair of the Housing and Local Government Committee, Assemblyman Jerry Green doesn't know the difference between a city inspector and a Construction Official whose job it is to uphold state codes. The Construction Official is the one who puts the permit stickers on windows of buildings and verifies that plumbing, electrical and other systems comply with a 13-page, fine print checklist.

The Construction Official is subject to a strict Code of Ethics that is posted on the web page of the state Division of Codes and Standards of the Department of Community Affairs. See it at http://www.state.nj.us/dca/codes/misc/pdf/code_of_ethics.pdf

If it is in fact the Construction Official that the Assemblyman is accusing of double standards, favoritism, badgering, harassment and other malfeasances, it is a very serious allegation indeed. How exactly "the bullying that this city inspector (sic) does" will come to an end may be the business of the DCA, not the Assemblyman, if there is any weight to the allegations.

Now I know why landlords like Connolly Properties can get away with murder, the answer Jerry Green! It's a shame that he lets sh*t like this go on. It's dispicable. He should be forced to live in the conditions that he lets happen!!!! We need change in Plainfield, a change for the better.

If you thought Green's remarks about the inspector were inappropriate, I suggest you go and check his latest remarks on campaign contributions, in which he singles out one particilar councilman. I cannot speak for that councilman, but his blog is so outrageous today, that I cannot stay silent. Some observations:

Assemblyman Green is at it again attacking a certain councilman, claiming he accepted campaign contributions from an engineering firm which recently pled guilty to bribery. That very same engineering company did work for the County of Union and, I assume, made donations to various Union County politicians.

The FACT of the matter is that while Green has been in the Assembly for years, we have not seen any serious steps taken to reform campaign contributions or ethics reform.

I've checked some of Green's own election reports and low and behold, disgraced Senator now INMATE, JOHN LYNCH, has contributed to Green Green's campaign funds on numerous ocassions. There are a horde of politically connected attorneys/ law firms and engineering firms who also contribute to Green and who receive lucrative contracts through the County. There is also at least one donation to Green from the Bergen County law firm Scarinci Hollenbeck ... the one that employees Bergen County Democratic Chairman, Joseph Ferriero, which was RAIDED by the FBI. Ferriero was recently INDICTED.

Green's blog has become nothing more than a weapon for him to unleash outrageous, one-sided attacks. Reading his blog one can only be embarrassed these kinds of things are being posted by a "statesman" no less.

Jerry Green says that he will go after pay for play abusers. Maybe he should look in the mirror. He receives tens of thousands of dollars from city vendors--he continues to hold a past administration to blame even though he's been in charge for the past 3 years (at least). Sounds like McCain trying to distance himself from Bush!

Check out the contributions made to Jerry Green by the firm that is doing the extrerior work on city hall. They made contributions as a company and as individual family members. Some law firms have virtually every member making contributions to Green and his cronies. What is the rule of stones??

Let's give a million dollars [$1,000,000] to an engineering firm from south jersey [sham offices elsewhere] to design streets there is no money to fix, because we spent so much on the other indicted engineers, instead of roads !! Atleast we will get campaign contributions for EVERYONE.
