City Crossroads Awaits Turn-On
All four corners of Park & Seventh now have the latest technology for traffic control.
As Plaintalker reported previously, the new installation will make this busy intersection into an exemplary site to keep traffic moving. Click here for details.
A worker told me last week the only thing lacking now is for the power company to turn on the new signals.
Maybe I am easily astonished, but I really think this is a big thing!

They need to do this on every traffic light. Right now I can imagine this is ok because there are always accidents at this light, but to seriously crack down on the violence in Plainfield, I think these cameras NEED to be put on every traffic light from every angle. It's a shame that our society has had to come to this, being watched at every turn, but we have all the criminals to thank for this! THANKS!!!!
Actually, shhh! don't tell, but the cameras have another purpose than recording crime. And if anyone's has read Bernice's past coverage of these lights, Plainfield actually has now 6-7 intersections on Park Avenue with these lights.
MIND THOUGH,, THIS IS A COUNTY PROJECT, NOT A CITY ONE.
Look for few more of these lights, and yes, go and tell criminals cameras are intended for them! Who says we can't use the "placebo" theory here?
And yes Bernice, is a big thing made possible by the county. Thanks for bringing it up.
