Iffyness

While I have been able to get online and read my mail and such, there are lots of weird messages popping up and making me think this laptop may not be totally reliable over the weekend. I will take my chances and do my best to file, but on the other hand, a break from blogging wouldn't be the worst thing in my life right now.

There is also the "ick" factor of recent local news revelations that make me think a day off contemplating more positive and pleasant things in life might be in order.

I am taking the day off from "life" here in Plainfield and going to explore the museum at Princeton University with a friend!

Enjoy your day off, Bernice, but keep in mind that in this country people are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Just a thought.

Bernice, I agree! Also, I think Rob has an excellent idea--great way to spend the weekend!

Another great place to explore is the New-York Historical Society--check out the "Lincoln in New York" and "John Brown: The Abolitionist and His Legacy" exhibits, which are running until March 25.

Rob (and others) may find the following of interest as well: "FDR's Brain Trust and the Beginning of the New Deal"--I am going to see this one next week--the "brain trust" idea is something that should be looked at in terms of moving our city forward--many residents have good ideas--many are willing to help.

To 10:22 - Maybe it is the way these stories are coming out that is disqquieting. On the school side, I am among those waiting for the OFAC report. On the city side, nothing has been officially corroborated, but allegations are being made public by unofficial sources. The net effect right now amounts to nothing more than scandal-mongering. Either individuals concerned will come forward and tell the truth or an investigation will uncover the facts. Or maybe not. To me, the "ick" factor has more to do with the swirl of controversy hanging over Plainfield. I hope the air can be cleared soon in both the school district and in city government.

And what his "big scoop" is full of could be an interesting question. Check out his "source" especially the words in red. Pretty slick--ick!

To 6:49 p.m. - you already put all that stuff on the nj.com Plainfield forum, so why should I post it on my blog? Those files look like something only an insider would have. Are you an insider or an outsider who now feels it is "time for the truth?"
