Contract to be Discussed June 30

The Plainfield Board of Education
has set a public meeting for
6:30 p.m. June 30
in the Plainfield High School
conference room
"to discuss proposed contract
with new superintendent."
So says a legal notice in today's Courier News. The first question that comes to mind is why do this the day before Dr. Gallon's starting date and the second is, why hold it in the conference room? I forget what the capacity of that room is, but I think there might be an overflow crowd to hear the details. Plaintalker will be on the alert for any updates.

Bernice you make a great point, why a conference room? Don't the citizens of Plainfield deserve answers? Who will be running the Plainfield School District next year? With all the job transfers, in particular with the adminstration, we have NO idea who will be running certain departments! Who's in charge?! When will we know the outcomes of the title changes? When will we find out details of Gallon's contract? Why do they continue to keep tax payers in the dark? We deserve answers and we deserve to know who will be leading our schools in September.
