"Nobody Cares" Update

The tagger who did the "Nobody Cares" graffiti on a South Avenue building posted a comment on the August Plaintalker item about it. Click here for the original blog post and comments.

Turns out he has a blog and also sells his work on eBay (click here).

TMNK, or The Me Nobody Knows, says he challenges others to help young people as he has done.

Plaintalker leaves it up to the readers to comment.

WOW! TMNK's message is as strong as it can get to those of us who spend too much time talking and less time walking the talk!

I checked his website and he has paints where if you have walked Plainfield, you can recognize, literally, some of our street signs.

I wonder if TMNK will let us know more about him. I know I will look at graffiti with different eyes from now on.

Thanks Bernice for the update, and thanks to TMNK for his words.

Painting and expressing ones ideas is a good thing. It makes a statement and brings attention to situations that might not get enough or are overlooked. Defacing public and private property is not the proper venue to do it. I cost the Plainfield SID thousands of dollars of tax payer’s dollars to remove this type of self expression. To TMNK, “Sell your paintings and express your ideas on your own house. Leave ours alone.” I can not and will not, no mater what the “message” condone defacing private and public property.
