Flash! JWM Moving on!
The mayor of Hoboken announced yesterday that Jennifer Wenson Maier will become director of Environmental Services in two weeks.

There is a boatload of other articles on this announcement. Nothing that I know of at this end to say how Plainfield Mayor Sharon Robinson-Briggs will bridge the gap until April 1, when David Brown II was supposed to start as director of PW&UD.
More later.

That's really fast news. So fast in fact that I'm willing to pay for it to continue. I'm sending Bernice $25.00 via PayPal, which I will consider a year's subscription @ $.50 a week. She should NOT send it back.
She can use it for whatever she wants: a dozen nice notebooks, three weeks of internet access, cab fare to a couple of board meetings, whatever. All I want in return is direct access to her reporting. Maybe she can put a small link on her blog so if others feel the way they too can make a modest donation to cover her expenses.
I rely on her hard work and skill, it's only fair that I pay for what I use.
Dude, I do not have PayPal but you must have read my mind, because I have been thinking about the Gannett Blog model of having a means for donations. I sent Jim Hopkins a bunch of $20 checks because he made so many things clear about life as a Gannetoid.
I will look into this.
Bernice - It's very easy and safe to set up a Paypal account for donations. With the service you provide, my bet would be that many of your readers would like you to know how much they sppreciate your efforts. It would cost you nothing to set it up nor to maintain the donation link on the blog.
I second Steve's suggestion, Bernice!!

Go for it Bernice!
Can I get a senior Citizen's discount?
I would pay!
And, JWM will not be missed by me. I hope she doesn't destroy Hoboken. Will be interesting to see how both she and Dashield perform outside of Plainfield. If they do well, I would be interested in knowing why.
I clicked on the link and was pleased to learn that she brought in $11 million dollars in grant money to Plainfield in less than three years. Can anyone tell me what those $11 million were? Where did Hoboken get that figure for its press release other than from her resume?
folks, JWM and MD will do well because they know they can't get away with things that they did/didn't do in Plainfield. With JWM leaving early we saved some $. She really owes us a payback.
bustin outta dodge
How did she get those figures...from her staff! You don't think she was able to do that work. Don't you remember her City Council presentations! Thank god she had the City of Plainfield to put on her resume. Am I the only one who remembers the lack-luster 5-7 months jobs posted on her website where engineering was spelled incorrectly.
Hope she does a better job building that garage in Hoboken than she did in 4 years here. Plainfield deserves better!
Actually her position could be filled by one of the division heads, the way they did with Hellwig--that would save us a pile of money.
buh bye JWM.. at your new digs be sure to treat others the same way you would like to be treated... then perhaps you can keep a steady paycheck.
