Chill in the Blogosphere
Dr. Yood has commented on the mid-winter slump in local blogging and I agree, things are pretty dull. But just as the Plainfield blogosphere expanded, sometimes it must contract. People have lives outside of blogging and it can be hard work to write a cogent piece.
My recent malaise had more to do with my ongoing distaste for what I call content stealing. Yeah, yeah, I know it's legal, brings more eyes to one's posts, etc. etc. I just don't like it. However, the only cure for content stealing is not to put any content out there, which ultimately isn't a choice for a blogger when stuff comes up that people need to know about or something interesting turns up.
Upcoming topics include city budget amendments, which are up for discussion tonight; the establishment of a cabinet for 2010-14; the impact of changes in Trenton on Plainfield; school board election filings; the progress of City Council President Annie McWilliams' innovations; the outcome of school district investigations; the advent of a city IT director; PMUA appointments and more. Most likely Plaintalker will report on these topics and more, despite the greedy tentacles of aggregators.

Stealing is a pretty strong accusation. Frankly, I don't see the big deal. It a link to your stuff, so what? Welcome to the internet.
Bernice,
Folks read your stuff in a different vein from others. You are already well respected. Where's that thick skin. Just do you!
