Rolling the Dice on Police Bureaus?

For many years, there were five bureaus within the Police Division and five captains to manage them.

In June 2008, the number went up to seven. Click here for Plaintalker's post.

Now everything can be handled by three captains over three "collapsed" bureaus, according to Police Director/Public Safety Director Martin Hellwig. Is this funhouse-mirror management or what?

As for the other three captains, the die is cast, but Captain Siddeeq El-Amin is is saying "no dice" to a demotion. Does that leave the other two with "snake eyes"?

The others are Captain Tony Celentano and Captain Mike Gilliam. That leaves Captain Ruth Selzam, Captain Steve Soltys and Captain Edward Santiago.

Capt. Anthony Celentano, Capt. Michael Gilliam are the other two getting demoted. It is a shame what this Director is doing to this department. Now how is he going to do this collapse of bureaus. You now have Capt. Santiago who, to put it lightly, is not on the best terms with Hellwig, Capt. Soltys who was Santiago right hand man, also not a fan of Hellwig. And Capt. Selzam who well probably end up with the bulk of responsibilty of Officers. She will be overwelmed with demands from Hellwig, and it may tak it toll on her, and she will leave. Capt. Celentano has his time in a will. It looks like Hellwig is trying to trim the fat at the top. Santiago & Solyts are lifers, there not going anywhere, but Selzam may leave once she see the work load this idiot is about to put on her.

Which Bureaus are going to be combined. Has Hellwig mentioned anythingg on who is getting which bureau, or is he spending his time on line or up in North Caldwell.

This city puts so much attention to race rather than ability. It should not matter if the are pink, purple or green, as long as they are qualified to do the job.
