Out, Darn Shotweed!

The Plainfield Garden Club members have begun their work on the Shakespeare Garden in Cedar Brook Park, but are finding they need extra weeding to deal with an invader with exploding seed pods. Every plant has a way of launching the next generation, but Shotweed is so aggressive that it is popping up all over the garden.
That's the bad news. The good news is that the garden just had its rocky border restored and plans call for replacement of the pergola. There is a lot more for people to learn about the Shakespeare Garden and the Plainfield Garden Club, so click here and see!

The weather will be perfect in the next few days to pay a visit. It is open during park hours, dawn to dusk. The garden is at its peak in early June,. Remind yourself to visit then as well.
