I've read all of the candidates' self-written mini-bios and responses to the LWV questions. I didn't find anything blatantly outrageous or blindingly brilliant, but I was able to weed out some candidates and elevate others. It's helpful that there are no photos or campaign hoopla to prejudice or distract. Perfect format? Nah, but very useful.
It would be a great idea (if it's legal under the fair use laws) if everyday Bernice, or perhaps Maria, would run the bio/responses of one candidate to increase exposure of the candidates information.
I think the best thing is to take time and read the whole file. Sheets with this information will also be placed in public locations as well.
Besides, the April 20 election is in less than 14 days!
The April 14 forum is another opportunity to review candidates as individuals rather than members of slates. This is a traditional voter service activity of the League, which I joined after retiring from the newspaper.
