Vets Honor Their Brethren Today

The weather was brisk this morning as veterans gathered at the memorial flag pole at Watchung Avenue and Seventh Street to honor the fallen from war.

Watching the ceremony were young people from the YMCA, Plainfield firemen, City Hall workers, several groups of citizens and the mayor who spoke to the assembled crowd.

The morning's event concluded with a moment of silence, taps and a three gun salute.
