Herb Green Becomes President

No, the national election didn't come early and Herb Green didn't beat Obama and McCain.

But he is the new president of the Plainfield League of Women Voters. His first term as president was 30 years ago, after the league began to accept male members. He was 53 then: now he is 83.

I submitted a brief to the Courier News and it has been online at mycentraljersey.com for three days, but has yet to show up in print. (Disclaimer: After retiring from the Courier News, I joined the league and was asked to do publicity at times.)

Vivre le President! I mean, Viva el Presidente, no, actually, Long Life to Herb Green and a Long and Productive Presidential Term to Herb Green!!!

I look forward to an energized and active League of Women Voters.

Congratulations to Mr. Green and much thanks to Bernice for keeping us informed.

To all community members, please join the league.
