Budget Flash

I just noticed that the agenda scanned in by City Council President Rashid Burney does not match the one on the City of Plainfield web site, which is longer and contains "Introduction of the SFY 2010 Municipal Operating Budget Coupled with Resolution Exceeding the State Deadline for Introduction of the SFY 2010 Budget."

Hmmm.

No real problem, Rashid did not copy pages #4 and 8.
Question new Ordinance MC 2009-30, how can the City approve of a major expenditure without having adopted a budget? This is for police cars. Seems inproper to say the least

Buying items such as police cars are covered by the Capital Budget. What is being introduced soon is the Operating budget. These funds do not mix - ever.

As I pick up the new paper and read the headline about the 10% increase of property taxes. I must say what could possibly be the reason for the indcrease. The mayor is this town does not know what the hell she is doing. The school are loudsy and the roads are terrible in this town. Not mention PUMA sucks with there high way robbery as well. Folks I think we need start standing up and tell the mayor and the damn city council that we wont stand for the foolishness they are given us. Folks are falling on hard times as it is and then to be hit with a 10% increase no way! When the new governor comes in jan we are going to faced with many more obstacles. I thank God that my trust in the Lord and not in these corrupt city officals. Start calling the mayor office and say no more increase in taxes no more!!!!
