What Next?

The news that everyone already knows has now hit cable television.

Not being a TV watcher, I did not recognize the man with the microphone Monday as an investigative reporter for NJ News 12 as he and a camera man focused on Police Director/Public Safety Director Martin Hellwig. By now, viewers have seen the video, which includes a statement from the mayor over the phone.

When will law enforcement authorities issue an official statement on the matter?

And the laughter at Plainfield continues......
And per Assistant Mayor Sharon: Soliciting a prostitute while on city time and using a city vehicle will only garnish you a slap on the wrist. SOOOOOOOOOO the correlation would be to all city workers: Use your computers and get some hookers and if you AREN'T in a "leadership" position there will be no or very little consequences. Have at it Plainfield City Employees...you have Sharon's permission!

Maybe his PC was examined to verify the illicit use. Did anyone check his phone bill or cell phone use?

He should immdiately be terminated for his actions. They are illegal. He is supposed to be the leader of a group hired to uphold the law, not break it and get away with it. What example does this show the public and our youth? What does this do for the morale of the officers working under his supervision?

He is an embarrassment to the city. And the mayor's comments are disheartening.
He hasn't changed the police division for the better at all. First you get demote the chief to captain, then the political promotion of a person to captain. This is while he already knows that 5 captains have been said to be too many, not to mention 7.

This junior captain falls out of grace and he proceeds to demote 3 and not filling the vacant position.

Question: What has changed since December 2007 when 6 weren't enough and you promoted Gilliam to now when 3 are sufficient.

The officers don't know how to make sense of this guy. Get rid of him, the excellent officers we have brought crime down despite him being here, not because he is here!
