Deja Vu

This poster and assorted campaign items appeared in the window of a downtown photography studio recently.

And here is the image again - in a banner hanging in front of City Hall, with the mayor sporting her campaign button on her lapel. Subliminal advertising?

Funny how she was nominated from the Gateway Chamber of Commerce in Newark. She sure didnt get that nomination here in her own city. She probably doesnt even know that Plainfield has a Chamber!

You must be kidding! If she is Mayor of the Year, other cities must be in real doo doo.

What other mayors were in the running? What is the Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce? Who do they represent? Criteria for being chosen?

The raised arm reminds me of the gesture two infamous world leaders, from the mid 20th century, would use when inciting the masses at one of their night time rallys. Each had an ignoble ending of their political careers. That said, where is the person that will lead Plainfield out of its wilderness?

This is illegal campaigning. In order to be fair, Mapp and the other mayoral contenders must be allowed to hang banners of equal size/dimensions from city hall's scaffolding! I think that if the municipal clerk doesn't have this banner removed, she will face a lawsuit.
