Reward the Gardeners

I must agree with the reader who felt recognition should be given to those who beautify their Plainfield neighborhoods with colorful garden displays. Yes, it is true that "Pride of Place" awards were once made to those who put in the effort. I have sent postcards in the past to addresses where owners or tenants have created beautiful gardens or filled hanging baskets with lovely flowers. It does a lot for the spirit on a busy day to see such a sight. Bring back "Pride of Place" and maybe others will take the hint!
