Still in the Dog Days
I was looking forward to the end of July, but it seems the annual spell of hot, humid weather known as the "dog days" will continue through early August. More 90-degree days are coming this week.Between mosquito bites and prickly heat, I am itching all over. Please pass the calamine!

Come on Bernice, break out the bikini and come to one of Plainfield's pools. Or did you burn them with your bra [per your courier column years ago?] You could not look as bad as I!!
