Up on the Roof with Dornoch

Among the touted features of the new senior center/condo project at 400 East Front Street was a roof garden. As normally understood, this is an amenity that provides environmental benefits as well as an esthethic enhancement for residents. Pictured above is the original concept that was proposed. Click here for a 2006 Plaintalker post on the subject.

Now a promotional video for the project shows basically a deck with some potted shrubs. So instead of balcony views of interesting greenery, condo dwellers will look out on folks schmoozing among some containerized arbor vitae.
One of the unresolved issues for the rooftop space is how shared access by seniors and residents will be handled. This new format appears to make that aspect of the project even more problematic.
We're just sayin'.

Another example of how Plainfield has no leadership or vision. We are on the right track electing people to the council who are business savy and can figure out how to run a business.

The Mayor is a wonderful person, but she has no clue how to run a business, or create a vision for this city. OUT in November and IN with vision and leadership.

If what you want is "vision and leadership," forget about Mapp--all he has to offer is hot air.
