Citizen Alert!!

Click here to read a legal notice that was published today.

Note that the wording on Item 4 refers to an ordinance "authorizing a five-year tax abatement agreement" between the city and P&F Management. Previously, the talk was that the proposed ordinance was merely giving permission to enter into negotiations regarding an agreement.

The City Council will meet in closed sessionat 7 p.m. Thursday and the public portion is set for 8 p.m., but don't count on it. My guess is that steam will be issuing from the City Hall Library door for some time until the council is ready to open it up.

By law, municipal governments are allowed to move into closed session if matters of personnel are discussed. Otherwise, they must conduct business in the open.

Under the Open Public Meetings Act, executive sessions don't just cover personnel matters--they also include negotiations and litigation.

I have to work Thursday night and cannot attend the meeting. I was at the Monday meeting a few weeks ago when the Monarch proposal was supposed to come up. I hope that many people will show up to once again remind the City Council that they work for us and also remind the mayor that she works for us, not special interests or other politicians. We need to take our city back, since this administration and special interests want to take it from us and hide what they are doing.

This administration is full of nonsense. How many times do the same proposals come up? What a waste of time and resources. Vote these incompetent people out! Let's take back this city.
