Marchers Protest Muhlenberg Closing

A large group joined the July 4 parade with signs in support of keeping Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center open. After three hearings, including two in Plainfield, the state Health Planning Board voted in favor of the hospital's Certificate of Need to close. Health Commissioner Heather Howard must now rule on the closing.

Oveter's Construction lent a flatbed truck for the cause.

The People's Organization for Progress prepared signs for marchers. The group will continue to meet on Mondays to strategize against the proposed closing.
