What to Think?

The news of happenings in Roselle and Roselle Park last week gave this writer a chill.

Was this a sensible move in times of economic constraint or a political knee-capping as a warning to other dissenters from the RDO manifesto?

Only time will tell what the real motivation was to make such drastic changes.

The price of liberty may indeed be death of one sort or another when dealing with the Union County Democratic Organization.

The events in Roselle and Roselle Park also gave me the chills. But it should make people more determined to make their voice heard.

Doesn't anyone care that we are being treated like a bunch of lemmings? Where is the spine and outrage that should accompany this obviously political move? Do you really believe Charlotte has the best interest of Union County in mind?

The power lies in the people, not the Union County Democratic Party, or any party for that matter. When will people realize that, get off their duffs and start taking an interest in what affects their quality of life, and pocketbook!

Bernice,

I agree with you. The idea of trying to destroy Mapp's professional life because he had the audacity to want to run for mayor of Plainfield is one that should strike fear into everyone in Plainfield. This is unremittingly EVIL. Many of us remember Jerry Green going to a Roselle council meeting last year to spread poisonous filth against Mapp and we also received multiple mailings from him with "portions" of a letter filled with misinformation from Roselle councilwoman Dansereau who very conveniently sits on the "shared services" committee in Roselle and who is along with Charlotte and Lesniak and Green are trying to take away the independence of Mapp and of the people of Roselle. It doesn't even make sense to fold the bigger town of Roselle into Roselle Park, which is only HALF its size. This is unconscionable and I see major lawsuits ahead. Maybe Charlotte DeFilippo's Defense Fund will help pay for the county's costs with this illegal move.

The only consolation is that if this goes through it will fail miserably. And unfortunately the town of Roselle will suffer for it. It will be interesting to see where Dansereau winds up. Maybe a Freeholder?
